October 9th

First check off of our bucket list was my choice, Byodo-in Temple. On the way there, we stopped at the Pali Lookout for some pictures.

Ethan thinks he got hit in the face with one. Such a crazy sign.

Those 3 guys were World War 2 Vets that were stationed here in 1946. They were telling stories about how the island was back then, and loved Lincoln & Harrison. They asked to take a picture with them and they both ran away lol.

There was a little booth set up with little kites, so we went to buy one and they were free. woot. It was some sort of Chinese Memorial Day, and they gave them each one. We stopped for our picnic up on the side of the mountain up a little bit from the temple. It had amazing views, but I was nervous Harrison was going to fall off a cliff because he's crazy and runs every chance he gets.

This reminds me of Jurassic Park. No dinosaurs were spotted.

Daddy's favorite thing: exploring the temple
Mommy's favorite thing: the amazing views from our picnic spot and not encountering any peacocks
Ethan's favorite thing: flying the kite
Lincoln's favorite thing: the picnic
Harrison's favorite thing: juice

October 3rd

Now that it's October, we only have a year left here in sunny Hawaii. We decided to make a final countdown list of our top 5 things we want to do before then. (And made some for the littles too)

Mommy
  • Enjoy a cocktail from a pineapple (or coconut)
  • Swim with dolphins
  • Find a swing on the beach
  • Go to Paradise Cove and (hopefully) swim with sea turtles again
  • Visit the Byodo-In Temple
Daddy
  • Swim with Sharks
  • Go Snorkeling
  • Go surfing
  • Watch a sunrise on the beach
  • Kokohead Hike
Ethan
  • Eat Breakfast at the Aulani Resort (Disney Character Breakfast)
  • Eat Shaved Ice from Matsumoto (Supposed to be the best!)
  • Kayak
  • Stand Up Paddle Board again
  • Do the Maze at the Pineapple Plantation with no map (Help us!!)
We'd also like to go to at least one different beach a month, and hit all our favorites again. It's harder to go with Millie, but in a few months she should be liking it!

August 27

I can't believe she's already a month old!

Millie enjoyed her first trip to the beach. We went to Pokai Bay because they offer free stand up paddle board lessons. Ethan & Bill did them ,and though he fell a few times, dropped my camera into the ocean (which miraculously bill found a bit later), and got beached, I hink he did pretty darn good :) He said it was fun, and he would do it again.

31 Days old!

Her bathing suit is a bit big, but oh so cute.

Day 187

Happy 4th of July!!!

We ate hotdogs (because who doesn't eat hotdogs on this day)

Then we went down to the carnival/concert

We bought $20 of tickets

This crappy "game" was $2 a try, but Link wanted to try it so we let him.
He won a rubber ducky.

Then this guy wanted a turn, and who could deny that face??

He won a stress ball shaped like a cat, that he promptly bit and broke into 5 pieces.

Then 6 tickets were spent on balloons - one batman, one mickey mouse. They popped before we left.

Next, they spotted the ponies. Our last 10 tickets.

In line, Link was scared and wanted me to walk around with him. Then we got up there, and he was like "I got this". Bill said, "Are you sure?", he grabbed his face and was like "I GOT THIS" and he did lol.

Harrison liked it too. He kept saying yee haw!

Time for the concert, the best picture of the 3 of them I got today. Sad but true.
No denying they are brothers, neither can open their eyes for a picture lolJuice

Juice guts

Dancing to Daughtry

Millie was there too, of course. 36 weeks, only 4 to go. Yikes!!

Superbaby flying high

It started to rain, so we decided to go home and eat and watch the fireworks from there. Probably a good decision because though he liked them, he did not like the noise and was a bit scared. And he says they didn't have enough blue ones.

Day 179

35 weeks and Amelia is the length of a pineapple! She's getting big!!

We went to see "Finding Dory". We went to the first showing of the day, and gave them lots of snacks. Lincoln did great. Harrison sat good until he got antsy with about 20 minutes left of the movie, but he was easily persuaded with candy. They both sugar crashed on the way home lol

Day 163 (Waikiki)

For Ethan's birthday outing, he wanted to go to Waikiki and eat grilled cheese and shaved ice. We went down to the Hale Koa hotel to swim and walked over to Cheeseburger Waikiki for lunch.

Lunch was good, they were all excited about the umbrellas that came in their food and the light up cups.

Birthday Coke. He's allowed one, once a  year, for his birthday.

Got to the pool, and there was a LONG line. Apparently everyone on the island came to the pool. Wait in line, get in, get the babies all lotioned and ready to go, walking to the pool and the whistle blows, break time. Link is of course pissed, he wants to swim dang it.

Wait out the break time, and finally get to swim. For aobut 45 minutes, then the whistle blows again. Pool is contaminated (put swim diapers on your kids people!!!) Closed for 3 hours. Sigh.

Link & Ethan played in the baby pool for about a half hour, but there were just too many kids in there. We ended up eating shaved ice and leaving.

So, it wasn't the best birthday outing, but he got his grilled cheese and shaved ice.
