December 5

Today Ethan's Leap class went on a field trip to the nursing home to sing Christmas carols & bring gifts to the residents. I think Ethan was a bit freaked out, but all the kids were great singers and the people seemed to enjoy it (at least the ones that were awake and knew what was going on).Afterwards we had lunch at McDonald's (all the kid's favorite part) and then we went to an old Stagecoach stop that is in our town square. That part was pretty interesting. It was built in the 1850's and was a Union Hospital during the civil war. It was neat to see the old buildings and all of the things that they found underneath it when they were restoring it.Momo made Ethan breakfast this morning, and gave it a little extra magic. His cereal milk turned pink! Ethan wouldn't even try it b/c he was sure that Momo put blood in it....such a weirdo.

December 3

Mr. Ethan was sick today. He has a low fever and says his throat hurts, but he still really wanted to go to his first basketball game. He was so excited, and all pumped up. He was a starting player, and was doing fine for about 3 minutes until he burst into tears and ran off the court. He says he was "nervous" but I think he just didn't feel well. He stayed with his team the rest of the game, and though they did not make any baskets, they were all so cute. Running the wrong direction and tripping over each other lol. Hopefully next week proves better for the Titans.

Perhaps the cutest thing was that they had their own cheerleaders! They even did a little halftime routine...goooo titans!

December 2

Momo made us breakfast...yummy!!

And he brought Ethan a lalaloopsy ornament...isn't it lovely?!

December 1

Our house is all decorated and ready for Christmas. Aside from our Christmas tree smelling like mouse pee from being stored in my parent's shed, everything went up smoothly. Oh wait, Ethan also broke the very first ornament that he pulled out of the tote. It was the Santa handprint that he made last year, and thankfully we had an extra one in there, or I would have been really sad.

Mr. Momo has been up to some mischief... one night he switched out our Christmas stocking with new underwear. He also unrolled Ethan's toilet paper and turned the water in the bowl green! Silly elf.
Ethan was pretty excited to start his 3 advent calendars today, yes he ended up with 3 this year. He will certainly know what day it is all month at least!

November 17

It is soooo cold here!! Seriously, it was 23* when I woke up this morning. I had to turn the heat back on (obviously), but we did not want to get out of bed!

Today was the Thanksgiving Feast at Ethan's school, it was so crazy. There were a million people there, and it was not very organized. He had fun though, so it's ok. I got to eat a delicious school lunch, those lunch ladies really love gravy.

Basketball practice was great tonight, the kids were more focused and Ethan is really liking it a lot! I'm so glad! I thought for sure after that first night that he was going to want to quit (after he got hit with the ball twice). He did get hit in the head again tonight, but he didn't cry, he was fine. He loves doing the running drills, and guarding, and shooting baskets. He seems to have more fun with this than tball.

Here is his impression of Momo, LOL!

November 16

Happy Birthday Papa (and Elvis)!

Momo, that sneaky elf, crepe papered Ethan into his bedroom. LOL. Ethan didn't think it was very funny, but I did! After school today, we went to Cub Scouts and made Christmas cards & ornaments for soldiers that will be in the hospital this Christmas. They turned out really cute!

November 15

Basketball Practice number 2 went pretty well. There were no injuries! woo hoo! Some of the kids are really bratty though, running around, doing cartwheels, just all around not listening to the coach. It's so annoying. I dislike other people's children a lot of the time. Anywho, he made 2 baskets, and was so cute on defense. He likes to guard people.

Momo brought Ethan this suncatcher craft kit today, he did a super job painting them. We've been up at 6:30 everyday since the stinking time change, so we have extra time in the mornings. He was done with these before school this morning.

November 14

Momo was a busy little elf last night. He rearranged all of our furniture in the living room to make room for our Christmas tree, and he got out all the rest of the Christmas decorations. Ethan's favorite is the Charlie Brown tree, which he wrapped one of his baby blankets around. So cute!! See Momo chilling out on Snoopy's other shoulder? Silly elf.

We also got our Operation Christmas child box all ready to go. Ethan picked to send a gift to a 5-9 year old girl, and had fun picking out presents for her. She is getting a Barbie, jump rope, card game, stickers, coloring book, paints, candy of course, and toothpaste, toothbrushes, wash clothes. We printed our label online so we can watch and see what country it ends up going to, so cool. I had to explain to Ethan that if you don't believe in Santa, he can't bring presents to you, even if he wants to, so Ethan was her "Santa".

November 12 & 13

Ethan wrote his letter to Santa this weekend. His number one request is a Lalaloopsy Silly Hair doll - no surprise there. Then he wants a 3DS, not shocked on that either. Number 3 however was completely out of no where, and so sweet. He wants Santa to bring Daddy home to stay. Now how to explain to him that Santa can't control Daddy's work schedule...

November 11

Happy Veteran's Day!

Ethan got to ride in the parade this morning with his Cub Scout den. We made this awesome sign (yes I'm proud of my coloring skills) and he was throwing candy. Well, really when he came past us he was EATING the candy, but he had fun. It was a nice day, and he ended up with a bunch more candy to add to his treat bowl, not that he is anywhere near out of trick or treat candy.

November 10

Cub Scout night! Tonight we toured the fire station. I have to say, our fire station needs an update! Everything in there looked like it's been there since 1960...wood paneled walls for goodness sakes! The boys were disappointed that there was no pole to slide down - the firemen said that they are getting rid of all poles because it's too dangerous. Lame. This was Ethan's last "go see it" - he now has all of his beads and will get his Tiger patch soon. He can become a Wolf at the banquet in January!

November 9

Momo got into the Halloween candy! Ethan was mad that he ate his peanut butter cup - naughty Momo!

I guess to make up for eating his candy, he brought him a Christmas playset. Ethan was super excited to open it up and find "Uncle Scott & Auntie Heather" shopping at the market lol.

November 8

E had his first basketball practice tonight! They are all so little and cute :) He had a lot of fun, except that he got hit in the face with the ball....twice! He was the only one that got hit too. He must get that from his father. He did make a basket though, and he did catch the pass that hit him in the nose, so it wasn't all bad.

Momo was mad about Ethan's stinky comment yesterday. Today we found him in Ethan's bathroom with a new Christmas soap and a message that said You Smell Like Feet! And here he is with his mini lalaloopsy's...

November 7

Spelling test day! Ethan got 2 wrong, but they were all pretty easy words, and he knew how to spell them as soon as they were marked wrong. I'm sure he will get 100% on Thursday (no school Friday). He used some of his Halloween money to buy some mini lalaloopsy dolls. If you don't know what this is, look it up, but prepared to be frightened, they are super creepy ragdolls. He is currently obsessed with them, and is planning to ask Santa for a big one. I'm hoping that the little ones will be enough and he will change his mind, because he has many dolls and none of them really get played with so I'm sure this one wouldn't be any different.

Momo brought out our stockings today, and was riding on Ethans' penguin stocking holder with a dirty sock on his head. This prompted Ethan to tell me that Momo "smells like feet because he wears the same outfit everyday, and he needs a bath". I think Momo does not appreciate that comment...we will see...

November 5 & 6

Just hung out at home this weekend with my little Rockstar ;)

We started working out our Christmas ornaments, so that some will be ready by Thanksgiving for the family that we celebrate Christmas with that weekend.

This morning Momo left secret messages with clues leading to him all over the house. Etahn had to decode them, and he found him in our downstairs bathroom. He had given it a Christmas makover - Ethan was amazed that he even changed the pictures in the frames to ones of Momo and/or Santa with E. He also gave him a snowman towel for bathtime.

November 4

We busted out the penguins because it was cold cold cold yesterday!

Cub Scouts was tonight instead of last night b/c we went on a tour of the radio station. The boys were all disappointed that there aren't people there singing the songs lol

November 2

Guess who's back....
That's right, Ethan drew Momo a magical picture last night, and now our elf friend is back. Yes, it's early, but heck, the radio station is only playing Christmas music, so we are just gonna go with it. I never know when our last year with Momo will be, so we will enjoy him while we can :)

Today he hid in Ethan's pajama drawer with a pair of elf pjs! So cute! Ethan was super excited!

October 31

Happy Halloween!

Ethan's class had a field trip to a dairy farm/pumpkin patch. It was pretty cute, but smelly. There was a sweet little baby calf that you could pet, but E refused to touch it. We went through a cornmaze and got to pick a little pumpkin that I'm going to cook up and make some pumpkin bread out of tomorrow.
This was my group, the little girl is Ethan's girlfriend this year, Katelyn.

Notice anything .... odd ... about this scarecrow???

We carved our pumpkin when we got home...he has been wanting to make a puking one all year, so we finally did it. It turned out funny.

We ended up going to the local church fall Fest - he got to play games and get lots of candy. Then we came home and trick or treated around the block - his bag was overflowing when we got home!
