Another beautiful day today. We dug out the watertable - he wanted to get out a pool, but that just wasn't happening. It was mid 70s today, and the hose water is COLD!! He played with his new "wacky flower" sprinkler too. And in case you ever wondered, I was informed that this....

We had a long day today. We were up at 4:00 to drop off Bill to go to Kansas for some training, and never got back to sleep. It was nice out, so we went to the park after school. E had a bit of a playdate there, as one of his classmates happened to be there (the girl that likes to kiss him!). Then we came home because he was "starving" and he didn't eat his lunch...typical. We played outside for a bit, but Ethan was having a rough time. He fell down the stairs on the back deck, scraping up his arm & leg, the slid on the rocks in the road when we walked up to the mailbox and hurt his hand, and he got his first sliver. He's now resting in my bed watching the Super Mario movie. Hoping it's an early night tonight!

Happy Birthday Dodo!

Happy Birthday Dodo! We love you!

This morning Ethan & I ventured down to our city's egg hunt. The weather man said it was going to be in the mid 50s, and it was 38* and windy as heck. There were some kids that were in shorts, and little girls in dresses that were freezing!! Ethan had a coat & his winter hat in the car, so we put that on. I'm not sure if it was because of the weather, or just because our town is small, but they had 10,000 eggs and not that many kids. Ethan walked away with 47 eggs (and only stopped b/c his basket was full).

Playing outside today, it was not that warm out, but E was determined to dress himself, which is obvious from his lack of matching. I especially love that he had to wear Halloween Snoopy socks. Crazy kid.

3 things

Whale crackers taste better than goldfish.

Ethan is a pretty good "thrower" - he says a pitcher is what you take with a camera.

And he's also a huge dork....

sunny days = love

We probably jumped the gun a little bit today, but we went ahead and planted a few flowers. We put them in pots, so we can bring them in if it gets too cold, but E was so excited to plant them. They are talking about Spring & flowers growing at school this week, so he was all into it. Hopefully they'll grow because we planted a ton of stuff last year and not one thing grew. We don't really have soil we found out - after planting - we have concrete about 6 inches down all around the house. Nice, no?? Also, please ignore all the garbage in the background of this picture - there is this small pile of crap that the owners left here and we aren't sure if we should throw it out since it isn't ours. It looks terrible, but it kind of fits in with the neighborhood :P

We also played hopscotch and made a chalk town for his cars to drive in. He made our house, and the mall, and his school, then waaaay at the bottom of the driveway he made Disney World, and everyone had to drive there.

This is what those grow a pet things turned into, they felt super gross! I think they were supposed to have faces, but they just sort of stretched out and look scary lol These are his cool Lego shoes that I got on sale at Amazon. He thinks they are neato - the bottoms have the little notches on them like legos. I had to take a picture while they were still clean, and sure enough not a half hour after this picture was taken, he stepped in dog doo.

colors colors everywhere

Today was grocery shopping day, and since I won't be doing it again until right before Easter, we dyed our eggs today. First we tried to do the tie dye kit - I do not recommend this. You basically suck up color into a straw and then squirt it onto the egg and then mush it around with your hands. MESSY! I think we did 3 before I quit and went to regular coloring. My thumb nail is completely blue, and my fingers are purple. Luckily, he didnt' mind switching, and thought it was just as fun doing it the not as messy, but still messy way :)

And this is the coolest thing. E made it at school during dinosaur week. It's a "fossil" they made out of playdoh that looks like stone and a toy dino.

Disney on Ice

What a yucky day! It's freezing outside, snowing like crazy and windy. Not what you expect/hope for on the first day of Spring!! We went to Disney on Ice in Kansas City.

The show was good, Ethan sat really nice through it all. We had really good seats - right by the ice. The show was in 4 parts -
CARS
Little Mermaid
Lion King
and Tinkerbell

He got a little yawn-y during the Lion King portion, but perked right up when it was time for Tinkerbell to come out. She flew down from the ceiling at the end, and he thought that was super cool.3 months from today and we'll be at Disney World, woo hoo! I'm so excited!! And I'm sure I'll be buying $7 popcorn and $20 crappy toys then too :P

Turtles & a LONG Drive

Playing video games, what else?!
Cory had to leave back to Wisconsin today. We drove him over to St. Louis, and then had to drive back to Sedalia to my parent's house because we are going to see "Disney on Ice" with them tomorrow. Spent probably about 6 hours in the car, not super fun, but I told E he has to practice for driving to Disney World. It was beautiful out today, low 70s, so I let him wear shorts. Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the 30s! What the heck?!These are the hatch an easter pet eggs that Auntie Heather & Aunt Kate got Ethan. We put them in water 2 days ago, and they are hatching into some sort of gross looking blobs :P We think one is supposed to be a chicken, and the other a bunny, but it's hard to tell.

splish splash

Bill's dad is down here for work, so we borrowed his hotel pool for a couple of hours this afternoon :) The water was warm, and there was no one else around, E had a lot of fun jumping in and dunking Daddy. He needs to stop growing so fast, he can now walk around in the 3 foot side with his whole head out of the water. Makes it a lot easier for him to play, but it seems like he shouldn't be that big yet!

I'm going to get him into swimming lessons this summer. Just have to figure out how they will work around our vacation. I think he'll do really well, the only thing he's afraid of is floating on his back, not sure why because he will go totally under water with no problems. Hopefully they'll convince him it's ok at the lessons :D

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Bill's brother Cory is down for the week visiting, and I finally got all 3 boys away from the video games and out of the house for a bit. We went bowling this afternoon - Ethan did pretty well with his "granny" style of throwing the ball - it only got stuck once. They were running specials today and we won 3 free games of bowling, and E got to pick a chocolate coin out of the pot of gold.

Before we left for bowling, I had spiked up Ethan's hair with green hair gel. Bill somehow got the bright idea to put some of the gel in his "beard" - I use the term loosely as it's just a few days of not shaving. Well, the gel is more of glue and is very thick - needless to say it looked super funny.

For his St. Patrick's Day present, we got him a rainbow projector for his room. It's pretty nifty, would be better if he would sleep on the top bunk so it could project onto the ceiling, but it still is pretty neat on the bottom bunk too.
