Being Bored = Being Naughty

All was well this morning. Ethan & I were having a lovely day. We played at the park for an hour, did some errands and were on our way home...then Bill calls to tell us to come to some field house to see him get an award. Sounds harmless, yes? He didn't tell me that there were 200 other people getting certificates and that we would have to sit there through all of them...see where this is going? Being bored does not make a happy Ethan. It was not pretty, and ended with me carrying him out screaming without shoes on. Never again!!! Unless he's going some super awesome award and Ethan has his DS with him.

Pool Day!

Ethan & I went to the pool today for a few hours before the storms got here. It's not raining yet, but it's thundering like crazy. E said since he can't see raindrops, the sun must be growling :)

It was cloudy, so the water felt a bit cool. Might have cooled off from the rain the past couple of days too. Last night E cut his finger, so it was hurting in the pool and he didn't want to stay too long.

I'm starting to think he just wants to go to the pool so he can get ice cream during break time...

On a side note, why do little kids love to mix all the playdoh colors together? He just opened his new 4 pack he got for his birthday (thanks Uncle Rick & Aunt Dede) and he mixed all the nice bright colors together to make pooh color.

Bill is on a funeral duty this month, and has done 2 so far this week. I find it really amusing that he is the bugle player! I would love to see that lol Here is his fancy uniform he gets to wear while bugling. He refused to smile.
Happy Birthday Grandma Donna! We hope you have a wonderful day!

And the winner is....

Ethan! Our library has a summer reading program. If you read, or are read to for 20 minutes a day, you get a prize every week. Every Saturday, they have a themed party/story time, and they do a drawing. This week Ethan won the drawing for his age group! Woo hoo!

He got a big bag of stuff. There was a hat, shirt (waaaay to big for him), towel that he likes because it has a reading flamingo on it, chalk, stuffed dinosaur, stuffed panda bear, cloth book (a bit babyish for 4- 7 year olds if you ask me), build your own dino kit, & a reusable library bag. His weekly prize was a model car. At the end of the summer they do a big drawing for a scooter, not that he needs one, or has any where to ride it, but he still wants to win it.

Yes, I'm a Slacker

Tonight we made Elvis some dog treats. Ethan loves making cookies, but we didn't have the stuff to make human ones, so I let him make dog ones. He played with the dough and cut out all the shapes (yes, they are all Christmas & Halloween because those are the only cookie cutters we have, but I don't think Elvis minds).
Here are a few pictures from the park last Friday. We stopped after E's eye doctor appointment (he has perfect vision!). It was 87* at 9:30 in the morning!
