February 20th

It was pretty nice out today, so we got to play outside. We started cleaning up some stuff (aka throwing a bunch of crap out) and going through seeing what we want to get rid of before we move. Ethan has way too much stuff!!

He dressed himself today, he was very proud. Everything was blue :) Not sure I would have picked the hat, but he managed to pull it off.

February 17th

Another beautiful day, so we headed to the park after school. E's injuries weren't so bad today, mostly just some scraps on his knees & legs. Thankfully his eye looks fine. He saw a girl he knew from Leap at the park, and he is so polite, he brought her over to me and introduced us. How cute is that?!

February 16th

Today was beautiful - in the low 70s. I got to hang some clothes on the line outside and we got to play when E got home from school. Of course he insisted on changing into shorts, a choice he probably regrets now. Some dogs wandered into our yard and scared him, and as he was coming up the stairs of our deck, Elvis ran down to bark at the dogs, and his lead tripped E up the stairs. He banged his nose and both legs and his hip. I think he's going to have a black eye tomorrow :(

February 15th

Ethan had his Kindergarten Music Program today...it was so cute :) All of the songs were about animals, the theme at his school this year is "safari".

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Ethan finally got to go to school today, and they had their Valentine party. His valentine's were a big hit, and everyone thought they were very cute. Our poor robot lost an arm before school this morning, and then when E was coming out of school he didn't even have a head anymore! He got so many treats, they busted the robot's head off!


Here's the Valentine my sweet boy made me...so lazy he couldn't even write "To Mommy" on it...even though Daddy's had to and from...but really I'm not bitter :P


And our "fancy" dinner that E wanted to have...ala the dollar store. I do love the plates though. The cups E had to get so we could cheers!

February 12

This past weekend we went up to Granny & Papa's house and they surprised Ethan with tickets to see "Mickey's Magic Show" for Valentine's Day. So fun! The show was mostly cheesy, but had a few cool magic tricks, like making Princess Jasmine levitate and sawing some girls in half. Ethan was happy that Donald Duck was in it, he said that's his favorite now because they are both sassy.



Papa got him a yummy snowcone in an awesome Mickey cup. Messiest thing EVER!!!


We also stopped at the mall and Ethan found this Mario Kart game, of course he was in heaven :) Even though he couldn't reach the pedals and see the game at the same time, he still loved it, and wants one for his Mario room.

February 9th

Another snow day! We actually did get quite a bit today, and the hill is once again trechourous. We did go out and shovel today and then we were sledding for about an hour. Ethan takes forever to walk back up the hill because he stops every 2 feet to eat the snow. Then I remembered that I saw a recipe for "snow cream" so we made some after we came in and warmed up. Meanwhile, mean Daddy whitewashed my poor son giving him the reddest cheeks ever! We had a lot of fun though, Bill rolled down the hill without a sled (I may have pushed him a little, but I didn't know he'd go all the way down the entire hill!), E and I made snow angels, and we all took turns on the sled. It's the first time I've enjoyed snow in a long time!

February 8th

February 6th

Ethan tried on his new outfits today. He love love loves his basketball shoes that he begged for. I have to say, I wasn't sure I liked them, but they are cute on him :) I think I may take back the orange shirt and exchange it for the hat that goes with this line, I don't really like all that orange on him. He's too pale looking.

February 5th

Woo hoo they plowed the road!! Today we went to Lowe's (because I thought they had a build and grow this morning, but it's not until next week...oops), then we headed to Springfield to go to the mall.

We had lunch at Fuddruckers, Ethan was amazed at a Monopoly Pin Ball machine they had. He's actually pretty good considering he's short, and could barely see over the top of the machine.

Then we went to the mall, where we actually didn't spend too much money, but I had some returns to do, and had to shop Gymboree's sale :P Ethan exchanged some stuff at Build a Bear and got a new frog with a "ringbearer" tuxedo on. It's pretty cute, not that he needed another stuffed animal.

At Target, they had Mario Monopoly on sale for $20, and Ethan had $21 in his bank, so guess what his big purchase was??? We played it when we got home, and he CRUSHED me & Bill.

I think we all just were ready for a day that wasn't spent in our house! I hope he makes it through this whole week of school with no snow days.

February 4th

ANOTHER FREAKING SNOW DAY!!! I swear, Ethan isn't going to have a spring break this year because they are going to make up all these snow days. I'm glad that we didn't have any plans. I shouldn't complain though, b/c if they didn't cancel school, he still wouldn't have made it since we still can't get up the hill- Bill had to get a ride to work today.

Nothing exciting is going on. Ethan got a hold of my camera and took about 100 pictures of his Mario toys....

February 3rd

Snow Day Part 3...

Ethan built a fort today. Yes, it's incredibly lame and just 2 chairs and a blanket, but it made him happy for about an hour. Starting to hate snowdays....

Bill had to go to work today, so he attempted to make it up the hill. Yeah, didn't work. He ended up stuck in a ditch on the side of the road, and we had to call a tow truck. At first, it was a 4 hour wait to get someone out here because the road conditions were so bad, but someone came about a half hour after we called. Thank goodness! They pulled him to the top of the hill so he could drive to work.

February 2nd

Snow Day Part 2! We didn't actually get a ton of snow, like everyone else we know, but the snow we do have is like ice. It's impossible to shovel, and is super hard. Of course NOW Bill tells me that he used up all the salt we had last week. GRRR. Wish I would have known so that I could have picked some up.

It has been entertaining trying to watch people get up the hill. I haven't seen anyone make it yet. The neighbors were out there trying to push their car up and it wouldn't budge. Then we saw a little Geo Metro flying backwards trying to make it up - they didn't make it either.

We managed to get outside and go sledding in the front yard. Ethan gets going so fast, that he either ends up in the drainage ditch, or Bill has to throw himself in front of him to stop him. Like any good family fun, it ended when Ethan got hurt. Bill accidentally shoulder checked him in the face when he was trying to catch him. Good times!

He of course recovered quickly, and had lots of cocoa with rainbow marshmallows. Yummy.

February 1st

Snow Day!!! We don't have much snow here (thankfully), but we do have sleet and ice, so Ethan & Bill had a snowday today.

E had to make a box for his Valentine's party at school next week, so we made this awesome robot today. He named it Ethan the LoveBot. He had legs, but they wouldn't support his big head, so we had to remove them. He's still cute though.

We also got his Valentines done for his class party, I think they turned out super cute even though Snapfish cut off part of the wording, and I didn't want to have to reorder the pictures :P
