More Summer Lovin

Tried to take some pictures today, and he had to act like Mario. Here he is jumping as high as he can.

summer lovin

One of Ethan's new summer outfits came today, so we had to try it on. He loves it (and picked it out himself, he's getting way too picky). He likes it because it has stars (like in Mario) and the stars on the shirt are pink. Now if it would just get warm! I know it's still January, but it feels like winter is dragging on. We are supposed to have another snow storm this weekend. Hoping & wishing that it misses us!!

This is my favorite outfit of the winter. I just got it at the GAP Outlet when I was in Kenosha, wish I would have had it sooner so he could have worn it more. Although he has worn it 3 times which is a lot for him.

Meatloaf Smeatloaf Double Beat Loaf I hate Meatloaf

Ethan tried meatloaf last night. It was amazing. He actually put meat in his mouth. Since he was a baby, he would never eat meat. I think he doesn't like the texture of it. But he tried it last night. :) He hated it, but at least he tried it.

My new favorite thing to do.....

is to go to the free movie theater on post! It's 10 times bigger and cleaner than the local movie theater, and it cost us $10. It would have been a lot less had I not let Bill wait in the line for concessions by himself, he came back with 2 big sodas & popcorn. We took Ethan to see "The Princess and the Frog" as he's been wanting to see it since it came out, but we went to see "Alvin & The Chipmunks" instead when we were in Kenosha. It was really cute, and he sat good through the whole movie. The little girl in front of us had a princess dress on, and of course he noticed right away. He kept telling me how pretty she looked. Once the movie started though, he was totally into it. His favorite part was of course, when the frog princess turns back into a human, and has on a beautiful dress. I think my son might be a fashion designer when he grows up =p
We'll definately be checking out future listings. I would rather wait a few months and go see it here than pay a crazy amount and sit in a tiny dirty theater :P

Pickles, Ickles

Today Ethan tried a pickle. Yes, he is 4 1/2 years old and has never tried a pickle. Well, he may have when he was like 1, but must never have liked them because I don't remember him even trying it. So, yes, he tried a pickle, put a piece in his mouth and chewed, and then ....

spit it back out. My boy does not like pickles!

Ethan likes ki-weed!

In the spirit of the new year, Ethan has decided to try a new food everyday. In case you don't know, or don't remember, that is a big deal as all the kid ever wants to eat is chicken nuggets and mac & cheese. So last night he tried the first new thing - kiwi.

First of all, he didn't like that it was green. He said green foods are gross. But then he tried it, and guess what - he liked it! His favorite part was "the crunchy part" - I did not give him rotten or unripe kiwi so I'm guessing he means the little seeds. He ate 2 slices of one, then wanted another one and ate most of the second one. He wants another one with his lunch today.

Thumbs up to Kiwi!

bubble gum, bubble gum in my hair

Tonight Ethan decided to see what would happen if he put his bubble gum in his hair. Apparently, a little bit doesn't stick, but when you put the entire piece in there, it does. So Mr. Ethan got a new haircut tonight. Daddy used the buzzer on him (which he HATES) he cried and carried on and said it hurt (then don't put gum in your hair!) until I bribed him with some new club penguin figures. After that he was perfectly fine and said it tickled..brat!! So here is his new do - he always looks so much older when he gets his hair cut.

Ignore the silly faces, my new camera always gives him half open eyes, I assume it must be the flash or something. Still trying to figure it out.

Easy Bake Cake

Ethan finally got out his Easy Bake oven this weekend. He got it for his 3rd birthday, and probably used it once or twice when it was new. His friend from school, Cadence, got one for Christmas so he wanted to use his. He made a yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Mommy accidentally put 2 tablespoons instead of teaspoons in, so it turned out a little flat...but he said it tasted good :) He even frosted it all by himself and got to use a knife (a fact he was pretty excited about).

Here he is in his Ratatioulle chef outfit - this was the day before he was baking. He was playing dress up and he was being Princess Peach. The rat ears were her "beautiful gems" LOL He's so weird.

And being silly with some stickers he got in the mail....

Comments

After using this blog for 6 months, I finally figured out how to enable comments. All you have to do is click on "0 comments" at the end of the post and it will bring up a pop up box that you can type your comment into. You don't have to be registared with blogspot or anything either.

There isn't much going on here today. Yesterday we went sledding again...the snow was more packed and boy did Ethan fly! I had to stand at the bottom of the hill to catch him because the first 2 times he flew into the sewer ditch and flung off the sled. If you watched the video from teh other day, he was flying all the way down to where the bush looking things are - which is where the sewer opening is. Bill was sledding too, and hit his butt a few times...I'm sure he'll be sore today. Ethan must have ran up the hill at least 20 times.

I hope that they aren't goign to have anymore snow/cold weather days this week. Ethan is so ready to go back to school, he misses his friends. I drove to the mail box yesterday though, and it was scary coming back down the hill. I'm glad that I don't have anywhere I have to go. I really don't think the Neon would do well at all on this hill in the snow.

This is perhaps the scariest picture of Ethan ever LOL One of his new summer outfits came in the mail yesterday, so I had him try it on. This is how he posed in it....scary!!! The outfit is cute though, the shirt is a size 5!! I think it runs small, but dang, last year he was in 3s all summer. I'm pretty sure he won't outgrow 4s until next fall..he's not usually a fast grower.

Pixos!

Santa brought Ethan the deluxe Pixo studio for Christmas. For those who don't know, Pixos are little plastic balls you put together on cards then spray with water to get them to stick together. This project takes patience, as the little balls are hard to pick up, and it takes a day for them to dry. So here is our first Pixo creation...can you guess what it is?

Dashing Through the Snow

Mr. Ethan had 3 snow days this week...for about 3 inches of snow. I'd like to believe that it was also due to the cold, because it just seems silly to me. Yesterday he helped me shovel for about 2 seconds, and then hit the hill in our front yard for some sledding. I think he only went up and down like 5 times, but he had fun :) It was really cold, so hopefully we'll have a day not so cold before the snow melts that he can go back out again. We must have the best sledding hill, because the neighbor kids came over to sled last night too.

Ice Crawling...Er...Skating

The day after Christmas we went with Scott & Heather to ice skate. Ethan was "super much" excited...until he got on the ice. I guess he didn't realize it was going to be so slippery. The first lap around probably took him about 10 minutes, and he mostly held onto Scott for dear life.
The second lap around he used a guide thing, the name of it is escaping me at the moment, but with it he could effectively "walk" on the ice. About half way through, Scott & Heather started skating faster than he could and he got mad and tried to crawl on his knees. That did not last long, as his knees got cold and then he quit. When he got off the ice, he informed me that he was done skating FOREVER! My feet hurt too after 2 laps so I didn't argue with him. lol.

Merry Christmas...(What, it's January already?)

We had a great trip back to Wisconsin for the holidays (as you will all see in the following posts). I just now am finding the time to catch up the blog, as I was being lazy while back home, and have been trying to find places for all of Ethan's new Christmas presents this week! He got way too much stuff, but no surprise there!

We spent Christmas Eve with Bill's family at his parents house. Ethan had a blast playing with William (and his first nerf gun) and Aunt Sami. Cory and Bill decided to have a drinking contest, and Cory got more and more entertaining as the night went on. He definately did not win the contest. LOL

Christmas morning Ethan woke up to a huge pile of presents. He was not so impressed with his Joker action figure, as he was with his Snuggie. Unfortunately, he was so excited about the Snuggie he had to put it on right then and it is WAY too big. Kids size my butt! I'm pretty sure Bill could fit into this thing. His favorite present was of course Super Princess Peach (a DS game he was dying to have) and he got a new DS. Santa was good to my boy.

We also celebrated with my side of the family at my aunt & uncle's house later that night. Ethan got to show off his cute penguin outfit (the first of many). He performed his Christmas songs from school, and played Gator Golf with Rick & Stevie. Such a silly game, but he likes it a lot. All you do is golf a ball into a plastic alligator head and it spits it back at you. Hours of entertainment for a 4 year old I guess.
