December Photo Challenge Day 8
Ornament

My favorite ornament that has to be on the tree every year.

Clearly, I have no clue how to take pictures by a Christmas tree, but she's cute even grainy.

First bowling excursion - unimpressed

\
But she learned to blow raspberries there

Fist pump cuz he knocked one down. Yay!

Day 3: Red

The elves made us breakfast...

And Lincoln and Harrison made Santa faces

Ethan had his winter concert, which wasn't nearly as bad as I feared, just very loud. Of course Millie cried as soon as it got quiet and began, and the two boys had to be removed because they couldn't sit still, but other than that, it was fine.

December 2nd

December theme of the day challenge Day 2 (I missed Day 1)
Favorite Christmas Movie - ours is Elf

Our Elves brought a cute wooden cookie set, it was a big hit! Lincoln played with it for over and hour before falling asleep cuddling the fake knife. (what, that isn't normal??)

December 5

Today Ethan's Leap class went on a field trip to the nursing home to sing Christmas carols & bring gifts to the residents. I think Ethan was a bit freaked out, but all the kids were great singers and the people seemed to enjoy it (at least the ones that were awake and knew what was going on).Afterwards we had lunch at McDonald's (all the kid's favorite part) and then we went to an old Stagecoach stop that is in our town square. That part was pretty interesting. It was built in the 1850's and was a Union Hospital during the civil war. It was neat to see the old buildings and all of the things that they found underneath it when they were restoring it.Momo made Ethan breakfast this morning, and gave it a little extra magic. His cereal milk turned pink! Ethan wouldn't even try it b/c he was sure that Momo put blood in it....such a weirdo.

December 1

Our house is all decorated and ready for Christmas. Aside from our Christmas tree smelling like mouse pee from being stored in my parent's shed, everything went up smoothly. Oh wait, Ethan also broke the very first ornament that he pulled out of the tote. It was the Santa handprint that he made last year, and thankfully we had an extra one in there, or I would have been really sad.

Mr. Momo has been up to some mischief... one night he switched out our Christmas stocking with new underwear. He also unrolled Ethan's toilet paper and turned the water in the bowl green! Silly elf.
Ethan was pretty excited to start his 3 advent calendars today, yes he ended up with 3 this year. He will certainly know what day it is all month at least!

November 14

Momo was a busy little elf last night. He rearranged all of our furniture in the living room to make room for our Christmas tree, and he got out all the rest of the Christmas decorations. Ethan's favorite is the Charlie Brown tree, which he wrapped one of his baby blankets around. So cute!! See Momo chilling out on Snoopy's other shoulder? Silly elf.

We also got our Operation Christmas child box all ready to go. Ethan picked to send a gift to a 5-9 year old girl, and had fun picking out presents for her. She is getting a Barbie, jump rope, card game, stickers, coloring book, paints, candy of course, and toothpaste, toothbrushes, wash clothes. We printed our label online so we can watch and see what country it ends up going to, so cool. I had to explain to Ethan that if you don't believe in Santa, he can't bring presents to you, even if he wants to, so Ethan was her "Santa".

November 12 & 13

Ethan wrote his letter to Santa this weekend. His number one request is a Lalaloopsy Silly Hair doll - no surprise there. Then he wants a 3DS, not shocked on that either. Number 3 however was completely out of no where, and so sweet. He wants Santa to bring Daddy home to stay. Now how to explain to him that Santa can't control Daddy's work schedule...

3rd, 4th and 5th Days of Christmas!

Ethan being out sick, messed up our teacher gift...she got 3 today :)

For the third day of Christmas, I bring 3 binder clips.

I'm sure it could be tempting to use them on my lips!

For the fourth day of Christmas, dry erase markers come in four.

As my kindergarten teacher, you really help me soar.

For the fifth day of Christmas, some popcorn for a snack.

Sorry, that's all the food I could fit in my backpack!

Visit with Santa

Sunday night our city had a community Christmas party. We went just to see some live reindeer. Sadly, they only had 1 reindeer and they wanted $20 for a picture with the darn thing! Seriously?! I didn't see one person get their photo taken with it, and I'm sure a lot of people didn't even bring money because it was advertised as "free and open to the public". Poor reindeer. Ethan just wanted to go by it, and they wouldn't even let him pet it.

He did get some free cocoa and candy canes, and he got to sit on Santa's lap. He told Santa that he is going to be a doctor when he grows up, that he is usually a good boy, and that he wants Wii Party & Wii Nunchuks for Christmas. We didn't get a good picture, because they just kept chatting. We may go see another Santa on Saturday at the library.

Also, St. Nick came Sunday night. He broke Ethan's stocking holder!! He brought him good stuff though, so I guess he's forgiven. He got a new DS game, a freaky pet, a chocolate penguin, and a lego bin among other things. Daddy got a new toothbrush and some mouthwash because he says naughty words and needs to wash his mouth out.

Monday morning E also woke up with an ear infection :( They put him on penicillin which is the grossiest thing I've ever seen - its like melted yogurt and smells terrible. I feel bad giving it to him. He stayed home from school yesterday and today, but he's going back tomorrow. Thankfully he seems to bounce back as soon as he gets medicine in him.

Today we made some peanut butter cookies and christmas picture frame magnets that Momo brought him. They turned out pretty cute :)

December 4

Our gingerbread house is finished :) Not that the boys helped much except for eating the candy. Ethan did decorate the roof, and told me what colors he wanted on it, but then he took off to play Mario...typical.

Today was day 1 of a 3 week project at Lowe's...he's making a holiday train. For whatever reason, they started with the caboose. He's most excited about the patches because they all fit together to form a "train" of patches.

We also went to see "The Legend of Gahoole" today...lame movie. Ethan could not sit still. Bill liked it though. I fell asleep half way through..it was hard to follow, all the owls looked the same to me. After the movie, we went to Burger King for lunch..E was dying to get a zhu zhu pet happy meal toy...why I have no clue, because he has 2 real zhu zhu pets and NEVER plays with them, but whatever. So he gets a boy one in his meal, and is not happy, so he goes and waits in line with 4 or 5 soldiers and gets up there and asks them if he can trade for a pink one LOL They had one pink one left - the one he wanted most of all, Peachy. So he was a happy camper.

First Day of Christmas

I saw this super cute idea on another blog, and we decided to do it for Ethan's teacher, Mrs. Baker. Each of the next 12 days of school before Christmas break, he is bringing her a small gift, mostly school supplies with a little poem attached. The first day is a clipboard, which we got at Walmart, and then busted out the Modpodge...Ethan had fun decorating it.

For the first day of Christmas, something for you to use.

I'm giving you this clipboard, so your papers you won't lose!

November 20

Today was another Lowe's project. E made a cute snowman, that is supposed to be a gift card holder. But we are going to paint it and put a picture in it and make it a frame :) After Lowe's, we went to the movie on post, "Alpha & Omega". I hadn't heard much about it, but it was a pretty cute movie about wolves that we all liked.

We also put up our tree tonight. Yes, it's early, but we always are! We figure we'll be able to enjoy it for a month before we head to Kenosha, since we aren't here for actual Christmas (hopefully anyways, Bill hasn't put in his leave yet). Ethan loved putting it up, and playing with the ornaments. He had to be reminded several times that they aren't toys, but nothing got broken, so I'd call it a success.

Momo brought Ethan's cool Phineas & Ferb jammies today. Ethan said "I didn't want these"...so I think Momo might be bringing coal from now on!! Such a sassy boy I have!! (For the record, he wanted some Mario ones he saw at Walmart that were the same style and that's why he was disappointed, but geez kid.)

November 8

It looks like our dear friend Momo the Elf is coming back to town. Ethan remembered that last year he drew Momo a picture and left it under his pillow, and that's how he got him to come. I don't recall this, but he's probably right LOL

So here is Ethan (blue) and Momo (Red). I hope our little elf doesn't get into too much mischief this year...

November 4

Ethan finished up his letter to Santa today. Yes, it's early, but Santa's elves need lots of time to build his presents ;)

I just looked back at the letter he wrote last year, and it's crazy how much better he is at writing and drawing.
