Merry Fake Christmas!

Saturday we did our Christmas here & gave Ethan all of the presents from us. I think for the first time this year, all of the presents will fit under the tree Christmas morning! Splitting them up was good, b/c we cannot carry anything else in the car LOL His favorite thing was Mario Party for the DS - even though he already has the same game for the WII & GameCube. He played it for like 8 hours this weekend!

Mario Party!

Batman Nunchucks!

Mickey Mouse Magic Choo Choo

We're super excited to come home next week! Can't wait to see everyone!

the Christmas Parade

This weekend we went down to my parent's house to check out Sedalia's Christmas Parade. It was cold and about an hour and a half into it, E was ready to go. We still saw at least 2 blocks worth of people lined up to march after we left, so it must have been one long parade. Way too long for a December parade in 20 - 30* weather! They did give out a lot of candy, Bill even got a Tshirt, and my dad got a CD. Kenosha parades don't give out anything as far as I can remember.

All bundled up and ready to roll.

Drinking cocoa & watching the parade.

Highlights included a decorated cement truck....
We also stopped to see Santa at Hallmark. When asked what he wanted for Christmas, E couldnt' remember what was on his list. Silly boy.
this was what he looked like at the end of the weekend

HO HO HO

It is cold here!!! I thought we moved farther South to get warmer weather, what the heck. Last night we went to Walmart and it was SNOWING out. Not cool!! I know it's December but it was in the 60s last week...this morning it was 20*!! On the plus side, E looks so cute in his hat & gloves all bundled up :)

Bill's battalion had it's Christmas party tonight. There wasn't much there, we waited in line for food for probably 30 minutes, then Ethan played in the bouncy house with his friend Lily until Santa got there. Santa came, the kids did pictures & got a bag full of candy from him. That was cute...they also took pictures and printed them up for us. Just have to say, I'm glad that I told him ahead of time that it wasn't the REAL Santa because he wanted to know why he had brown eyebrows when his hair & beard is white. I'm telling you, this kid is too observant!!

O Christmas Tree

We hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving yesterday. We stayed home all day in our jammies & played games & watched movies. We had all the traditional foods but with chicken instead of turkey :) We game our turkey away to one of Bill's friends.

We put our tree up on Wednesday night - Ethan was soooo excited. Most of the ornaments are on the bottom of the tree - all on one side LOL I moved a few after he went to bed b/c I was afraid the tree was going to tip over. His favorite ornament this year so far is Tom & Jerry & the Little Einsteins rocket (that sings - super annoying!).

He was also totally thrilled to put up the Mickey train. Amazing how he can sit there and watch a train go around in a circle for a half hour.

Here he is dancing to Christmas music while he was waiting for Daddy to finish eating. Disregard all of the wetness on his shirt - he had an incident with ketchup at supper time. He kept wanting me to dance with him like "married" - apparently holding hands and dancing around is how married people do it.

And the finished product - 3 hours later!

Momo is still getting into mischief - yesterday Ethan hit him with a pillow and knocked him off his spot - so last night he toilet papered his room. Well, Ethan thinks it's cool and looks like snow so I don't think he gets that Momo was being naughty LOL Wednesday night, Momo left us candy canes to hang on the tree.

Momo, the Mischievous Elf

Our little elf has been getting into lots of trouble this year. So far he's drawn snowmen on our milk cartons...

wrapped Ethan's pictures on his walls like presents....

gotten out the Christmas movies and got popcorn all over the living room...

and this morning we woke up to Ethan's underwear thrown all over his room, even up on the ceiling fan!
He's done some nice things too of course, brought E some new books, and a Charlie Brown Christmas board game. We're waiting to see what else he will do as he's pretty crazy this year!

Happy Fake Thanksgiving!

My parents came down this weekend and we had our fake Thanksgiving meal. Mom made turkey (gross!!!) and I made pie (yum!!!) :P Ethan wanted chicken nuggets & french fries, but settled for corn, mashed potatoes, a bun & lots of olives. He definately gets his olive love from my side of the family, Bill thinks they're gross.

We went to see Disney's Christmas Carol in 3D. It was a long 90 minutes. E thought it was boring, and I have to agree. The old English they were speaking was hard for me to follow, so I'm sure he had no clue what they were saying. I wouldn't see it again, that's for sure. There are a bunch of movies coming out that we want to see . Area 51, Princess & the Frog & Chipmunks Squeakwell - I think for one of them I'm going to put tickets in his Christmas stocking.

Granny brought some sugar cookies for E to decorate. They turned out colorful & super yummy!

The Army is supposed to be giving us a Thanksgiving basket, so I might be making a turkey this year. I hope it's not a big one, since only Bill will eat it.
