September is Gone

Hard to believe it's October already. We've been living in Missouri for 5 months already. Crazy! Looking forward to coming home this winter. Still have no clue when that will be, but still excited about it :)

Ethan insisted on wearing this crown everywhere today, and wanting people to "bow to the King". As you can see, his nose is all healed now. He does have a small bump/bruise on his forehead because he had footed jammies on yesterday and slid into the coffee table with his head. Good thing our table is rounded, or we might have had a flashback to when I was little!

Here are his awesome glow-in-the-dark jammies Granny got him. This is apparently a skeleton face. The picture is supposed to say Happy Anniversary Granny & Papa - not sure why it turned blurry on me.
And here he is playing Guitar Hero. Bill found it when we cleaned out our basement this weekend (yes it's finally clean!). We set up a little craft area for us to do our messy stuff, and Bill has an area to do his weight lifting (although I'm betting he still never uses the bench). It's so nice to be able to walk down there without crap every where. I brought a lot of stuff to Goodwill on Monday.
Also, our caterpillar died. It turned red and got hard, not sure what happened. We then caught a fuzzy red & black one that was cute, but turned out to be poisonous (found out after we pet it of course) so I let that one go too. I think we'll just order some babies in the spring from the butterfly house thing that we got last summer, those worked really well & fast.

Scab Face

The other night E was messing around putting his face on the screen door. He had this red bump on the side of his nose, and we thought it was a bug bite from playing outside. Yesterday it looked like a bruise, and today it is a scab. So I guess he somehow must have hit his nose on the door. He didn't cry or anything though. So now he has a big old scab on his face and 3 or 4 mosquito bites. Poor little scabface.

It's been cooler out this week, and rainy, so we got to bust out some of E's new fall clothes finally. Now that he'll be going to school in the mornings when it's cooler, I think he'll be wearing mostly pants. He did get into the morning class, and is starting on October 8th. They are making us wait 2 weeks before he can switch, but his teacher is trying to make it happen faster. Not sure what she can do about it, if anything, but it does seem dumb to make him be in this class for 2 more weeks and then switching. I should find out tomorrow if she can make it happen faster. It would be nice if he could start on Monday in the new class instead of on a Thursday too!

Bill is at home today because he was supposed to be in his motorcycle safety class and it was cancelled because of rain. This is what my husband looks like 70% of the time :P

Moving On Up

I got to E's school early today to talk with the teacher and see how he's doing since he crys and screams and doesn't want to go. She told me he's really good in class, knows all the answers, etc but she thinks he'd do better in the morning class - which is basically the getting ready for kindergarten class that we should have put him in in the first place.

So now I've been chasing back and forth trying to switch him into the morning class. It will be every day, Mon - Fri from 8:30 - 11:30. I think that once he gets into it he'll like it a lot better. The kids will all be his age (he's the oldest in the class he's in right now) and they are working on things more on his level - writing & sounds of letters, simple math, etc.

Only problem is they won't let me switch him for 2 weeks so now he has 2 more weeks in this class and then he'll start in the new class. I feel kind of bad to make him go into a class where he doesn't know anyone and start all over again, but like I said, I think it will be better for him in the long run. His teacher said that he doesn't really connect with the kids in his class because they are all younger. He will still have the same teachers, so that will help.

Our caterpiller is still alive - we gave him some fresh leaves today. He sort of looks a different color - more of a dark reddish brown. Not sure what that means.

We went to see "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" this weekend in 3D. It was ok, Ethan sat really nice and liked it. It's storming here right now and he keeps looking out the window to see if there is a spaghetti tornado coming LOL The movie was much better than the book - which we gave to Goodwill after reading once. I remember reading it when I was little and liking it though - guess I didn't have good taste.

Oh, something else cute he asked this weekend. He wanted to know if there was any color in Kansas. I guess he was paying attention when we watched "The Wizard of Oz".
