Lanikai Pillbox Hike
Super cheesy anniversary picture.
I would first like to say, those people that list this on the easy & beginner hike pages, you suck. That is all. It probably didn't help that I've been sick for a few weeks and am still coughing and stuffy, or that we went at the hottest part of the day (thanks for not getting out of bed Hubs) but dang, it was still pretty dang steep. Bill's fitbit said it was equal to 108 flights of stairs.
Second, this hike is odd and in the middle of a residential neighborhood. You have to drive around and find a spot to park on the street. So by the time we got to the actual hike I was already huffing and puffing from walking from the car LOL I should have taken this as a sign that I was not going to make it to the top.
Luckily there were still amazing views without getting to the top. I stopped when we got to rocks that were almost as tall as I was. Bill went all the way to the second pillbox.
