Day 78

Jackass Ginger Pool Hike

Yes, Bill picked this one because of the name, but it was also on the "easy" list which is right up our alley. When reading the directions, we were warned that there is a high theft rate in the area and to not leave any belongings in the car. Great, just what I like to hear. Luckily, we had no issues. You park right on the road and go through a cement barrier and there is the trailhead.

We had to walk a little bit, and then cross a stream. This was surprisingly painless for everyone, though the water was COLD. No one fell in though, so go us.

Then we came upon a bamboo forest, which was very cool. Link kept an eye out for panda bears since it's their favorite food.

Giant piece of bamboo they found..

We got a little bit off track and had to go up then down a hill, but eventually we found the pool.

We somehow managed to get to the top of the falls, so it was shallow enough for the babies to play in. They found this rock to jump off, and did that for a  while until they were so cold their baby lips were purple.

Cold has never stopped Ethan.

But fear does. There was a naturally formed "slide" down the falls, and he decided to go down it, chickened out halfway down and clung on for dear life. Being the loving mother that I am I was laughing hysterically while he hung there and screamed for help.

Got everyone changed into dry warm clothes and headed back. So proud of Lincoln, he hiked the entire thing himself, and swam, and never napped. (not so proud of that part) I imagine he will go down early tonight!
