Let me tell you about that time that my husband had to work so I had to take all 3 of my children to the dentist alone. Now I tell myself, this may not be so bad because Ethan loves the dentist, and Harrison has never been before so he doesn't know to be scared. But then there is Lincoln.
That adorable little boy right there. Super cute, right? Looks sweet enough. We've been talking about going to the dentist for weeks, reading books, preparing. He even went to the doctor earlier this week and after he said "AAAHHH" he asked for his new toothbrush. Easy peasy. He was fine getting into the car, then we got there and he collapsed and cried and said he didn't like the dentist. So I'm trying to carry Harrison, and Lincoln and go up 2 flights of stairs. Fun, yes? Luckily halfway up the stairs he decides he's ok, and big again and can walk. Great! Up we go. Get checked in, playing in the waiting room, I even get all the paperwork done. Then they call us back.
Harrison immediately finds this cute purple chair, sits down and is fine. Smiling away. Lincoln is on my lap in the chair, wimpering but not too bad....yet. Then they try to put the drool bib on him. He rips it off and throws it across the room. Ok, no bib, no big deal. Then they try to clean his teeth. Then starts the hysterical crying, screaming, kicking. They send in an extra hygienist to hold his head still because I have his arms. Yah, that was fun. Then Harrison starts crying hysterically in full blown tears because Lincoln is crying. So we (3 of us, myself and 2 hygienists) are trying to comfort both of the crying babies. It probably took all of 3 minutes to clean his teeth. Then he calms down, and lets them put the fluoride on.. Then he starts smiling, he thinks he is done. He's all "I'm a big boy, I ok Harrison", then the dentist comes in. He crys again, but opens his mouth. She gets a good look, and he really is done. Thank goodness!!
For whatever reason, they switch us to a different room for Harrison. Lincoln's little chair is in the hallway, but he's pretty pumped about his Mickey Mouse toothbrush and he's playing a game on my phone (I can see him from the room). Harrison realizes it's now his turn to undergo the horrible procedures just done to his big brother, and he starts freaking out. Crying, screaming, kicking, the extra lady comes in and holds his head. He has 10 teeth, it took like a minute, but that didn't stop him from throwing an epic fit.
All 3, cavity free. Let's get the heck out of here.
I can't wait to td this next year with 4 kids!!
