Kicking off our summer bucket list early this year, because it's more of a "do before baby is born" list. We went to the Ho'omaluhia Botanical Gardens, where they have a little catch and release fishing lake. They provide bamboo poles, and you use bread as bait. It was beautiful there, and the kids were pretty well behaved. We ate our picnic and then fished. Only Lincoln caught one, he is very proud. I think it's because he insisted on using the rest of his sandwich so it smelled like ham :) Harrison kept rolling down the hill and scaring his Mama. He spent most of the time sitting on the blanket eating. Link ended up with one foot in the lake and a wet shoe, which he was not too happy about. It was fun though, and I'd go again. Note to self, we only need 2 poles, the 3rd one just is used as a weapon. Oh, no one got hurt or hooked themselves or anyone else, so success!
Have a picnic --- check!
Go fishing ---- check!
On the way back we stopped to feed the ducks our leftover "bait", but only the fish came to eat.
